Twitch Affiliate is the first milestone that turns streaming into income: subscriptions, bits and ads. The requirements have not changed much, but the strategy to reach them has. Here is what you need, what trips most streamers up, and how to get there faster.
The four requirements
- 500 minutes broadcast in the last 30 days (about 8.5 hours).
- 7 unique broadcast days in the last 30 days.
- An average of 3 concurrent viewers over the last 30 days.
Minutes and days are just discipline. The two that stop people are the average of 3 viewers and the 50 followers.
Why "3 average viewers" is harder than it sounds
It is an average across all your streamed time. Stream 4 hours with 6 viewers and then 4 hours with 0 and your average is 3, barely. Most new streamers spend hours at 0 or 1 viewer, which drags the average down no matter how good the peak was. The fix is to never stream at 0.
The fastest path to 3 average viewers
- Stream in a small category (under 300 total viewers) so you are visible on page 1.
- Keep every stream between 2 and 3 hours. Shorter streams keep the average high.
- Use a viewer package on every stream during the 30 day window. A monthly Twitch live viewer package activates automatically each time you go live and holds the count, which removes the 0 viewer hours that kill the average.
The fastest path to 50 followers
Ask on stream, put a follow prompt in your panels, raid at the end of every stream. If you want the number handled quickly, Twitch follower packages deliver natural-looking accounts within hours. Many streamers do this so newcomers see an established channel rather than a channel with 6 followers.
What not to do
Do not use free viewbot scripts. They spike the count, get filtered, and can flag the channel right before your Affiliate review. If you use a viewer service, use one whose viewers stay for the full session and join gradually. Our Twitch view bot packages are built exactly for that.
After Affiliate
Partner requires 75 average viewers, which is a different game. The same tools apply, only larger. Weekly and monthly packages scale to hundreds of viewers if that is your target.
